Even if the path he followed to enter perfumery was already well charted, he redesigned its contours in his own way. The story he invented tells of predestination mixed with determination. He always wanted to become a “nose.” Once his wish was formulated and his focus redirected to fuel his ambition, his godmother, a perfumer in her own right, was able to give him a hand. She took him under her wing and integrated him in a renowned composition company in Grasse where he could partake in a work-study training program with ISIPCA. As a mentor, she taught him what she, herself, had received through a long chain of mentoring. She transmitted to him, among other things, the taste for citrus fruits: They were a breath of joy, richness and sparkle. And even if they were ephemeral, this was part of their charm, to seize in an instant.
